Recent Recordings

Jack and Jenny Music has a number of cuts, or commercially released recordings, to its credit. They include:

Award-winning bluegrass artist Don Rigsby recently recorded These Golden Fields, written by Jeff Walter and Nelda Sisk, for his Hillbilly Heartache CD, due for release July 18, 2006, on Rebel Records. (To hear the original demo of this song, featuring Tim Thompson on guitars and vocals, click here.)

Jimmy Parker, written by Walter and Ed Pettersen, will be included on The New Punk Blues of Ed Pettersen, to be released later this year. Nowhere To Roam, also written by Walter and Pettersen, was included on the expanded reissue of Pettersen's Desperate Times CD, released in 2001.

Effron White, a Kerrville New Folk Finalist and Woody Guthrie Song Contest winner from Fayetteville, Arkansas, included A Little Bit of Sweet, an award-winning song written by Walter, White and Phil Lancaster, on his Yankee Dime CD.

Take the Next One Back, written with Larry Wayne Clark, was featured as the title track on the Canadian artist Robyn Scott's 2000 CD release. It has received airplay in Canada and overseas, earning Jack and Jenny more money so far than any other song in its catalog -- literally hundreds of dollars!

Horse Thieves and Moonshiners, written with Nelda Sisk, is the opening track on Sisk's Strangers in Paradise CD, released in 2000. Various tracks from the album have received airplay on "Americana" – format radio stations around the country. Music historian and critic Robert K. Oermann, in his DISClaimer column in Music Row magazine, described "Horse Thieves" as "Classic troubadour stuff, evoking wandering minstrels and the American landscape." Sisk's yet-to-be-released follow-up, Wild Chicory, contains the Walter co-writes Cavalier Inn, Tell Me Something I Don't Know and These Golden Fields.

Christopher Lee of Covington, Virginia, also recorded Take the Next One Back for his 2001 CD project, All Roads Lead to Home. Lee will include Walter's Best Thing on his second CD project.

(Let Me Be) The Other Man, also written with Larry Wayne Clark, was recorded by the Canadian duo Barnard and Brohm for its 2002 debut CD, And Then Some.

Margerit Minoeff of Stuttgart, Germany, recorded Walter's Blamin' the Blues for her 2004 release Margerit Exquisit: I'm Like Champagne.

Blue Movie, a collaboration with Larry Wayne Clark, is on the sixth CD from Texas singer Vince Hatfield, released in 2004.

Intimate Strangers, a solo-written song, was released recently by Murray, Kentucky, country artist Danny Mack.

Walkin' in the Bayou, written with Bob Dellaposta, has been recorded by several independent artists.
