Last year Carol Smith and Jeff Walter were fortunate enough to be involved with a project for a national charity called the National Health Care for the Homeless Council (www.nhchc.org). The challenge was to write a theme song conveying the idea that, in working with disadvantaged populations such as the homeless, we don’t always know what’s best for them; therefore, a big part of helping them is simply listening. Everybody has a story to tell, and we can all learn from one another. The result was the song “Whole Lot Like Home.” Now NHCHC has produced a moving video for the song, which is being used in the agency’s training programs.
